What's On My Shelf

I'm a big believer in reading. I know it's cheesy and perhaps cliche but readers really are leaders and leaders are readers. If our desire is to grow and become more effective in our leadership and capacity to minister to others we must be exposing ourselves to new ideas and concepts.

History is a great genre to read in as well; church history tells the part of the story that we weren't around for. It teaches us about our roots as believers. American history also provides a litany of examples, good and bad for us to learn from.

There are countless works on spiritual development, evangelism, outreach and a whole host of other topics that can greatly benefit every believer. Of course, the Bible should always be our starting point.
Find a version that makes sense to you and dig in.
